I. THE CHURCH COVENANT We,
the Members of Calvary Baptist Church, accepting Jesus Christ
as our Lord and Savior, reverently and solemnly covenant with
one another to undertake, as God shall enable, to do the following:
to manifest for each other brotherly/sisterly love, to bear
one another's burdens, to commune together and to remember
one another in our prayers and our daily devotions: to attend
regularly the worship and other services of our Church
II. MEMBERS
A. ADMISSION: (1) Baptism;
Any person professing faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, giving
evidence of a change of heart and having accepted the aims
and ideals of the Church as expressed in the Church Covenant,
may be received into membership after baptism by immersion.
(2) Letter of Transfer; A member of any Christian Church may
be received as a Member with us, by presenting a letter of
transfer from such church and adopting the aims and ideals
of the Church as expressed in the Church Covenant. (3)Christian
Experience; Any person who shall give satisfactory evidence
of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and who has expressed that
faith previously by membership with a Christian Church, and
who accepts the aims of this Church as expressed in the Church
Covenant may be received as a Member. (4) Restoration of Membership;
In the case of one who has been erased from membership, the
Church Board may restore his/her membership. (5) Associate
Members; Members of other Christian Churches temporarily residing
in this area may become Associate Members of the Church while
retaining their membership in the church from which they come.
Such Associate Members shall have all the rights, privjleges
and obligations of membership in the Church except the right
to vote on official church business. Upon removal from his/her
removal from this area, such associate membership will cease.
(6) Procedure; All actions regarding church membership shall
be by vote of the Church Board. All persons uniting with the
Church shall be made acquainted with the Church Covenant,
and shall immediately be given the opportunity by the Church
Board, to fulfill their stewardship obligations to church
expense and missions. The Pastor on Communion Sundays will
extend the right hand of fellowship to all new Members, in
recognition of their admission to all the rights, privileges
and obligation
B. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Church
Covenant, as stated in Section I of the Bylaws, outlines
the
responsibilities of Church Members. Members shall endeavor
to present the unity of the Church, and should a Member
find
themselves irresolveably opposed to the will of the Church,
he/she shall not attempt to disrupt its fellowship but
shall
quietly withdraw.
