Communion Sunday: Pilgrimage of the Heart

May 3 is a Sunday full of celebration and stories:

-We'll be celebrating our very youngest as parents bring kids for dedication.

-We'll honor our high school graduates and bless them on their journeys.

-And, we'll hear from two Calvary women who will share about their own Pilgrimages of the Heart.

The morning will close with communion and an extension of that celebration into our community potluck. All are welcome.

If you are interested in bringing your child for dedication, please contact Pastor Amy or Pastor Christian.

Songs For Tending Our Hearts

Songs For Tending Our Hearts

Simple heart songs to help us tend our grief, non-religious and accessible to all.

A song circle for grief, the weight of the world, and hope and courage in these times.

When it feels like the world is falling apart, singing in community together heals and centers us—we’re not alone.

Our culture desperately needs spaces where it is safe to feel your sorrow and the weight of the world. Come sing through the small and large griefs in your life, give them space to breathe, and learn songs to anchor your courage and hope for the work to come.

Song leaders Liz Digitale Anderson and Leah Robshaw Robinson hold care-filled circles for you to de-stress your nervous system, find freedom in your voice, move your body, and be in community together.

Every voice is welcome and needed! We teach all the songs call and response- just open your mouth and echo back. We’ll sing songs to ground you, heal you, help you breathe, and give you hope in the days to come.

Any questions? Please email us info@calvarychurchmpls.org

Candlelit in the sanctuary. Free; Donations accepted. Facebook event here.

Wander: No Room (An Advent Adventure)

WANDER is a unique advent adventure for Calvary families and folks of all ages honoring the Mexican tradition of La Posada.

We expect a cold Sunday evening for WANDER. Amy has shortened the walking route and will have a mostly inside option available if you are worried about the cold. But, the outside is part of the fun. So, come bundled and brave the cold as we walk together through Whittier seeking room for the baby Jesus to be born.

Please register by Friday, December 5 by emailing connect@calvarychurchmpls.org.

BAPTISM OPPORTUNITIES

Baptism is a way for you and/or your kids to make a bold community statement that they are on the journey with the rest of us following Jesus' way. Late this summer, there will an opportunity to be baptized either in Lake Superior at Family Camp (August 17) or at a special outdoor service at William O'Brien State Park with the entire church community in Sept.

JOIN US SEPT 7 AT WILLIAM O'BRIEN STATE PARK FOR OUTDOOR SERVICE, BAPTISM, & CHURCH PICNIC

The park is fully accessible with ample bathrooms, a fishing dock, lake and beach, lovely campsites, and boat rentals. We will arrange rides (or a bus) from Calvary to help folks attend this special day away together.

CAMPING OPPORTUNITIES

If you are interested in camping for the weekend at William O'Brien, book your site now. A few families have already reserved sites in the Riverway section.
