Strategic Initiatives 2021-23

Our 5 strategic initiatives are central to the present missional focus of Calvary. We believe they are contextually current to the times we are living. We also believe if acted upon faithfully and well, our church will be strengthened with a balance between attention given to our members and neighbors alike. Pastor Jeff often says: "we all have something to bring and we all have something to receive."

Your participation is sincerely invited as teams form and lead these strategic initiatives. Financial resources have been set aside to assist us in the realization of our mission - please see below for more info and how to request funds.

Requesting Funds for Strategic Initiative Spending

Purpose:

Generate ideas from the Calvary community to address the goals of our identified strategic priorities and guide allocation of strategic priority funds.

Creating a Request:

Calvary community members use the brief fund request form to outline the idea and provide supporting details. The ideas presented can connect to one or more of the strategic initiative teams. Requests will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.

Review Process:

Strategic Initiative Teams will review submitted ideas for their alignment with strategic priority goals and strategies. The team will communicate with the fund request originator to clarify, as needed, and provide reasoning for any decision to initiate action, pass along to the elder board for approval, or table the request.

Ideas will be evaluated according to these criteria used to prioritize allocation of the strategic initiative available funding and their operational feasibility:

  • Advances one or more of the strategic initiative priorities for this season.

  • Aligns with our core values and deepens our mission of honoring God in all things.

  • Engages the Calvary community in living out our values and strategic priorities.

  • Integrates with the life of the church, connecting with existing and emerging leadership and moving on multiple strategic fronts where appropriate and possible.

  • Strategically invests in creative, one time opportunities or seeds potential long-term ministries (requests are not focused core operational funding, though ideas might lead toward becoming part of the operating budget in the future).

  • Collaborates within our community beyond just financial investment with leadership and capacity to take on the work.
